About

On December, 18th my dearest Casey got down on one knee and asked me to be his bride. Next to a winding stream, under trees strung with white Christmas lights in his grandparent’s back yard, he proceeded to read me a story; our fairy tale and his unwavering love for me. As our family watched from a deck in the distance, I said yes to my sweetheart to love him for the rest of our lives.

My heart is overwhelmed with thanksgiving knowing God has placed in my life the man who I will walk beside for the rest of my days. I have decided to make a blog to capture the special moments, all the in between times and the many, many prayers that will fill the next year as I prepare to become his bride.

As young woman in my last semester of College, I along with my friends face a new journey that neither of us have walked through. We all wonder where God is taking us. What is the next step? Some have positioned themselves for grad school, some have been promoted for a new job and are beginning their career, and some have already walked down the aisle and said “I do” with their lifelong partner. But then there are those of us who are in the position of patiently waiting for direction as we wade through life’s decisions questioning what the next step will be.

I cannot tell you what I will exactly be doing after May 4th, except celebrating graduation with a delicious slice of cream cheese frosting cake. I have ideas, but no exact answers. However, as I take the next few months to seek what life after College means for me, I can tell you what I know God will be doing in my heart; making me into a bride.

My prayer is to take this next year with open heart, allowing God to work in me and prepare me for the next steps after college and a marriage He designed for me and my Casey. Beyond saying yes to the dress, the adorable white chapel, and the perfect coral flowers, I must say yes to much more to prepare for the marriage of my dreams. I have a commitment to Casey, to my family, and to God to keep a covenant when we both say our “I Do’s.” There is so much our world doesn’t prepare young brides for and my hopes are to unlock the disillusionment young women face and stay focused on the desires of Gods heart for both Casey and I. I am excited to see where God takes me.

I invite you to take this journey with me. I hope my words will find encouragement to young women taking their next steps after college and preparing for their future husband, engaged or not. We all must prepare for our prince charming & our fairy tale :)

With the deepest love,
Sara

  1. I am so happy for you both!! You will make a beautiful bride!! I know you make Casey so happy and I know you will both do great things with God by your side!!

  2. As my daughter is entering this new journey in her life, so am I as a parent…much like any parent does when one of their children becomes engaged!

I have always prayed for each of my children’s spouses to-be. In addition to praying God’s will and for Him to keep them safe, I have prayed they will follow God’s will and purpose in each of their lives.

When Casey came to us to ask for Sara’s hand in marriage, I saw my little girl no longer as a little girl; and that was very hard as her mother. I have to say; I wasn’t ready for this chapter in my daughter’s life! Like Sara states in her blog, “we didn’t see this coming.”

But isn’t that how God works? Always when we lease expect it!

I know God has both Sara and Casey in His hands because I have prayed for Casey; the future spouse, since Sara was a little girl. And when God does it, He does it right.

It is exciting to see their journey unfold together.

Always keep in mind; your prayers shape the destiny of your family…for generations to come! Never stop praying for your kids.

    Mom!

  3. Hi Sara! I just wanted to say reading about your story and how you and Casey met was so encouraging and I completely told all of my friends who are unsure about love that God has a plan and your story just shines light on that! Loved your engagement photos absolutely stunning!
